Council Steps in to save a House from neglect

This was a long-standing empty house where the owner had continually failed to repair and reoccupy.

Eventually a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) had to be made in 2010, but it was agreed with the owner to delay implementation of the CPO for a year if renovation and re-occupation began to move at an acceptable rate.

The main house now occupied and work on separate flat is nearing completion.  The owner has said recently that without us urging her to complete work & let out the upper floor she feels that she would probably never have got on with it.
